Under the Executive Director of the Global Fund, the Head, External Relations will:


-  Manage relations with external partners and stakeholders of the Global Fund; 

- Manage the replenishment campaigns of the Global Fund with the objective to maximize the resource inflow to the organization from public and private donors, and;

- Help to create a political environment in donor and implementing countries conducive to the achievement of the key strategic objectives of the Global Fund partnership.



The Head, External Relations is in charge of three departments of approximately 35 staff, which includes the following Departments:


- The Donor Relations Department, which manages key political engagements with traditional and non-traditional donors, maximizing pledges for the respective replenishments and turning pledges into contributions.

- The Private Sector Engagement Department (PSE) which mobilizes financial and non-financial contributions from the private sector by managing relations with new and existing private sector partners, creating platforms for delivery innovation and expanding innovative finance models to increase resource flows for grant implementation.

- The Political and Civil Society Advocacy Department (PCSA) which manages relations with Global Fund champions, civil society advocacy partners, parliamentarians and parliamentary networks and supports advocacy for increased domestic financing commitments.
