Description:  

We’re looking for a Data Science leader who is quick thinking and able to tackle a breadth of business problems with thoughtful and innovative insights. Specifically, s/he will own creation and delivery of predictive business insights and will have extensive experience in leading scientists and shaping data models and algorithms, guiding a talent leadership insights strategy and executive search business, across practices and functions, while operating in a collaborative environment.

 

Responsibilities

Strategic planning 

·    Design integrated and unified Firm-wide insights generation strategy, leveraging internal and external data sources

·    Design and develop Firm-wide data models and algorithms to be leveraged across applications and service lines to deliver on business outcomes

·    Provide thought leadership to help shape new insight-centric offerings by integrating existing and new sources of data to generate integrated insights to consultants, researchers and finance

·    Develop business case and success metrics to build and maintain data scientist capability, influence key stakeholders

 

Guiding execution

·    Develop strong understanding of talent advisory and executive search business, candidate attributes, key drivers, success outcomes

·    Develop technology vision and phased implementation roadmap to deliver insight generation strategy, aligned to business objectives and thought leadership opportunities

·    Develop and tune state-of-the-art analytical models to shape insights and predict business outcomes for wider usage across client engagements, thought leadership efforts and financial analysis

·    Leverage disruptive big data technology capabilities, artificial intelligence, machine intelligence to develop and deliver insights to consultants and researchers across service lines, shape client proposals and deliverables

·    Leverage unstructured and structured data, leveraging Firm-wide ontology and partnering with internal psychologists to ensure insights generated using consistent set of attributes across applications

·    Partner with psychometric experts, product development and business application teams to ensure all applications leverage analytical models and deliver insights using internal and external datasets

·    Guide data management practices, promote best practices and innovation regarding the use and governance of data models across Egon Zehnder in partnership with Legal, Security and Privacy teams

 

People leadership

·    Champion a team culture of test and learn, guiding data centric decision making consistent with Egon Zehnder values and ethics 

·    Lead, manage, inspire and motivate high performance across the data insights organization

·    Manage a robust set of third party analytics providers to ensure insight generation practices are world class

·    Evolve a traditional technology team to an agile, high performing user centric, product delivery team

 

Qualifications

·    Master’s degree preferred in advanced analytics, statistics

·    Minimum 10 years in data science and/or advanced analytics roles

·    Knowledge of data technologies and analytics services landscape

·    Strong understanding of digital technologies and industries

 

Technical Skills

·    Deep knowledge of Hadoop/Big Data environments; Data modeling, both logical and physical, broad variety of analytical processes

·    Data science, statistical analysis, data mining and predictive algorithms, Relational - SQL - and multidimensional - MDX - query languages

·    Knowledge of machine learning capabilities, statistical tools/ packages, R and/or Python

·    Knowledge of tuning analytical models with business input to drive accuracy

·    Knowledge of scaling data models with internal and third party data and helping leverage unstructured data in models, guiding insight generation

·    Strong understanding of modern technologies and use to solve business and customer problems to deliver business value and growth – cloud, mobile OS, PaaS and IaaS

 

Leadership Skills

·    Proven leadership skills with ability to communicate and collaborate on ideas clearly, both orally and in writing with business partners and technical Strong business, analytical skills and the ability to think strategically for longer term, business benefit; drive strategic value, partnering closely with consulting & research

·    Ability to conceptualize a project and create a vision, and lead others and follow-through on projects to completion

·    Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate internally, influencing senior executives as well as externally with remote locations, external partners and clients, and vendors

 

Experience

·    Demonstrated ability to conceptualize a project and create a vision, and lead others and follow-through on projects to completion

·    Proven ability to deliver business insights across teams and applications

·    Experience shaping advanced analytical models with structured and unstructured data to solve business problems

·    Experience executing business driven / self-service BI; Deep knowledge of the AI/BI vendor landscape

·    Proven ability to manage complex vendor, supplier, sub-contractor relationships

·    Demonstrated ability to function effectively as a team-oriented leader, able to work independently but also lead cross-functionally

·    Strong interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to gain the confidence, respect and trust of senior executives, clients and staff

·    Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate internally as well as externally with remote locations, external partners and clients, and vendors.

·    Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and strong problem solving skills; think strategically and creatively

·    Proven project and time management skills; must be resourceful in developing alternative solutions and meeting deadlines in a real time, fast paced environment

·    Must demonstrate strong active listening, attention to detail and follow-up skills, planning, prioritizing, organization, analytical and customer/employee relations skills in the performance of all essential job functions

·    Proven ability to work well under pressure, juggle tasks and work efficiently against deadlines

·    Experience working globally and creating alignment across multiple geographies and cultures

·    The ability to ensure the confidentiality of sensitive information and thrive in a fast-paced, intellectually-demanding and service-oriented environment
